Wednesday Inspiration – Drink Your Tea
This weeks Wednesday inspiration is a poem – Drink Your Tea, by wonderful Thich Nhat Hahn and a little inspiration perhaps for what you can do on a day where you are low on energy – this is what I will do…
Today I feel tired. Like the long winter still ahead of us is draining me slightly but as John Steinback said “What good is the warmth of summer, without the cold of winter to give it sweetness”. I crave spring and sunlight and warmth but it is far away still.
So today I will take extra good care of myself. I will go for a long walk in the sparse daylight there is and buy myself a bunch of colourful tulips to brigthen a grey day. When I get home again I will have warm soup for lunch, I will sit with a large cup of tea and warm my hands, while I listen to Pema Chödrön on Sounds True. I am currently listening to Walking the walk and I can highly recommend listening to it.
Drink your tea slowly and reverently,
as if it is the axis
on which the world earth revolves
– slowly, evenly, without
rushing toward the future;
Live the actual moment.
Only this moment is life.
– Thich Nhat Hahn
